Article Marketing, Keywords, and Using Your Twitter Following For Profits

What does article marketing, keywords and Twitter have in common? They are all a means to drive traffic to your site. Writing articles and submitting them to certain directories comes with a few major steps you must perform. Let’s discuss the three things you should do with your article before submitting to the directories:

1. Write an article that is between 500-750 words in length.

2. Concentrate on a killer title that captures the readers interest. Be sure to place your keyword or keyword phrase in the title.

3. Sprinkle the keyword and LSI keywords within the body of the article by just writing the body naturally.

A note on articles before we move on to keywords. Potential readers of your article want something that will help them now. They’re not looking for a sales pitch or an academic paper. They’re just looking for practical tips in an easy to read and short format.

Using the right keywords will make or brake your articles. If used correctly, you could find yourself on page one in Google as well as Yahoo and MSN. Used incorrectly and your article will be nothing more than internet FOD (Foreign Object Debris). Keyword research will require the following in order to be successful:

• Use low competition, high search volume keywords for the articles you write and distribute to the directories and eZines.

• Write specific articles to place on your site that target high estimated cost per click. The reason for this is to add adsense to your site and target the high paying keywords. Example: auto insurance quote has an average CPC of $39.23.

• Use programs such as Keyword Elite or Market Samurai to do all your keyword research.

Finally, lets use social media to market our articles. EzineArticles.Com has a great new system on their site that allows members to set up their twitter account so that when you write an article and submit it to the site, it will send a text message or SMS message to your twitter page.

Another great way to use your twitter account to market is to set up your phone and then use it to send text messages to your twitter account. Remember to keep your messages accurate to your followers by talking about the niche you started the account with.

Lastly, set up twitter on your blog to showcase your tweets either daily, weekly, or even monthly. This is a plugin you can get from Wordpress. I set mine up to automatically update my blog every night at 10:30. What it does is it post to your blog all the tweets you’ve done for the day. That way, if you run out of time to post to your blog, then you still have fresh content showing up daily. Doing this tells the search engines that you have new and fresh content being added every day.
